« Le bandolero andalou entre idéalisation et criminalisation au XIXe siècle »
Résumé
The comparison of different penal, political and literary writings query the ambiguities of the Bandolero figure. They reveal the porous border between the rebel and the criminal, show its motivation, often more villainous than altruistic. They do however, start to reveal the motivations of those who accuse, pursue or write about him. This comparison of the real bandit and his literary avatar brings to light the conflict between the incrimination by the political power and the legitimization by the public opinion through a romantic consecration from the Ancien Régime to the consolidation of the liberal state.
