Mariano Moreno: De reformista a insurgente. By Noemí Goldman.
Résumé
This biography of Mariano Moreno is the latest installment in a series of profiles from Edhasa of figures of Argentinean history—many connected to independence-era struggles or posterior civil wars—whose publication has coincided with bicentennial celebrations for the figures. Part of the larger biographical turn, which has seen a return to this format as a historiographical vehicle and a way ofengaging a larger public with the profession’s debates, the profiles have also benefited from the renewal of scholarship on independence and republicanism in the Atlantic world over the past few decades.
